Introduction - The Fall of Britain
After winning the battle of
Westerham [see score report
here] Churchill is killed and German panzers streaming through the GHQ line.
London is captured and British resistance crumbles. The Royal Family, the Crown
Jewels and George Formby flee across the sea to Canada with the remains of the
Royal Navy.
The Germans install Edward VIII as a puppet ruler of their new fascist state. As
a reward for his outstanding service to the Fatherland, General von Klinkerhofen
is appointed Military governor of Southern England. General von Klinkerhofen,
commanding from his base in Winston Churchill’s former home of Chartwell rules
with an Iron Fist. A new dark age descends on Britain … the British are cowed
into submission by the shock of their defeat.
Slowly but surely the grip of the Germans grows tighter on England and dissent
rises as a result. The arrogant nature of the German occupiers combined with
forced requisitioning stirs the local population.
The special Auxiliary units trained by the British Army in espionage,
assassination and demolition begin their work. Operating from secret hiding
locations they disseminate propaganda and carry out acts of sabotage. A section
of Auxiliary unit snipers begin assassinating German troops. German forces
retaliate by forced imprisonment and requisitioning of all beer in Kent. This
further angers the population.

Canada - The fight goes on
Across the Atlantic the Royal Navy begins fighting back against the Germans and
are able to win naval supremacy against a Kriegsmarine already weakened by the
invasions of Norway and Britain. The military situation prevents a full scale
invasion of Britain from Canada, but in preparation the British Government in
exile authorises the establishment of Commando Units to raid exposed German
garrisons and assist the auxiliaries and British Resistance.
Resistance Grows
After the requisitioning of the beer crop, local civilians and former members of
the home guard begin actively resisting the German occupiers. Led by a
mysterious leader codenamed ‘Alfred’ they operate in the woods and marshes
around Westerham carrying out acts of sabotage and stealing German military
equipment. The security situation declines to such an extent that the Germans
are forced to bring back a Fallschirmjaeger platoon to provide personal security
for General von Klinkerhofen. In order to better understand the local threat, a
platoon of Brandenburg Kommandos is brought into the area to work in
co-operation with Abwehr and SD agents in order to infiltrate and destroy the
British resistance. The Germans also deploy a crack sniper section to hunt down
the British auxiliary snipers who are causing them such trouble.
An
intelligence Coup
An infiltrator at German HQ discovers that King Edward VIII will be visiting
Westerham and the HQ of General von Klinkerhofen to receive a personal update on
current anti-partisan operations in the area. British authorities in Canada are
informed. A platoon of elite Commandos under the Command is despatched across
the ocean to infiltrate occupied Britain and join up with ‘Alfred’ and the
British resistance. They are joined by a special agent codenamed ‘Bertie’.
A cunning plan
The British formulate a cunning plan. To coincide with the visit of King Edward
VIII the British resistance will launch an uprising the Westerham area to divert
German forces. In conjunction, auxiliary and sniper units will attack German
forces in the area. While distracted by these events, the Commandos will attempt
to destroy as much of the German defensive infrastructure as possible and kill
or capture both General von Klinkerhofen and King Edward VIII. Agent Bertie [a
professional actor who bears a striking resemblance to the King] will be
secretly substituted in the confusion. When the time is right, he will call for
an insurrection across Britain allowing British troops from Canada to land.
